Default WS-6 hood question

I have a ws-6 hood that came off of my wifes car and am going to sell it but I am not sure what I should price it at. I am enclosing a photo of the only damage to the hood. I have worked in fiberglass building and repairing for over 15 years so I will fix this damage as it is very minor but I had the insurance put a new one on the car since it was black as I am sure must here would do. I know that the local Pontiac dealer sells this hood for $1981.00. Can someone please help me know what I should price it for. I have a good idea but just looking for outsiders advice so I don't price it to high or to low.

Thanks in advance, Scott

Hey Scott, I dont see why you couldnt start the bidding at 675, as you will be repairing the hood yourself. You are correct, GM asks an arm and a leg. The hood will most likely need to be re-painted to color match by the buyer anyway, so being that you will be repairing it and priming it, the stage has been set. I also dont know if you are going to repaint it and finish it in the color it is now. You are also setting a platform for the buyer that it will fit just right, its an OEM GM quality, and it is all set for paint. So, if you are asking what I'd pay for it, the way it sits i'd give you the 675, and after its fixed I'd pay what you were asking. That is, lol, if its under 1000. Good Luck!

They go for 900$ brand new on ebay. I don't know if anyone will pay that for a repaired hood. I'd say you can probably get around 500$ for it.

I called the local Pontiac dealer's parts department and asked them the price.

I have seen the new aftermarket ones on ebay but I have also seen how some of the aftermarket parts fit especially when compared to OEM parts.

Thanks for the input
