Default How to Prep your car for Winter..

welll just curious as to how you guys go about detailign your car in the winter.My car is a DD and it see lots of salt and snow in winter time.And after about a week of driving to work it gets pretty dirty with the salt and road grime on it. im always carfull to spray it down good before i ever touch it with a micro sponge because im afraid of scratching the paint with the dirt and debree thats on the car..but how do you guys get your cars exterior ready for the winter any good waxes or polishes i should use or perhaps a clay would do it

Sucks for you, mines in storage.... Wait....SUCKS FOR ME because you're actually driving yours!!! Anyways for your question, I'd just wash it really good and throw a couple coats of wax on there. Oh, and make sure you get the under carrige really good with all the salt build up. That **** will eat up your car like a starving kid at an all you can eat buffett!!! I wouldnt bother claying until spring and with a silver car, scratches and blemishes arent very noticable, so wash it regularly and I think you'll be alright till spring where you can clean it up good and then use the clay and wax it up nice. Hope this helps!

The biggest thing is going to be applying a quality/durable sealant to give you protection over the winter months.

When you wash, I suggest a sheepskin mitt and the two-bucket method along with quality soaps, towels, etc.
