Default White faced gauges - turn signals?

I'm looking at buying a car with white faced gauges. When test driving it I noticed the turn signals don't really light up because they have a hard time shining through the overlay or w/e. I consulted the owner and he said he tried to thin it out and get them to shine thru better but they light up at night. Not really a big deal but I was curious if anyone else had this problem?

The car is a '97 camaro, not sure what brand the white faced guages are but i'll have pics if/when I buy it.

very common with the cheaper ebay-isk overlays, nothing to be worried about...

anyone else? Are the NR gauges or w/e better? IDK what brand the gauges were or really what they looked like. They looked good and had a TA bezel over them.
