Default looking for a new hood, 'glass or no?

Since my car is at the body shop getting fixed and I need a new hood, are there any any reasonable non fiberglass hood options out there. I've been looking around but don't want to drop $1000 plus on an SLP SS. My repair guy doesn't want me to get a 'glass hood because of durability issues. He is very competent and I have used him, alot so it's not an issue with them not doing a good job or anything.

fiberglass is better but it needs more work to prep it properly. get a decent quality one and it will line up properly.

it will last just as long as a metal one as long as you take care of it.
