Default Cleaning Headers?

Hey guys I have 4th of July off and wanted to clean up the headers on the car so i took them off the engine and started to try cleaning them up. I thought they were going to be surfice rust but i cant find something to take it off with. I tried the simple green and even that dosnt do anything! they are just regular pacesetters coated. have any of yall tried cleaning them? also could spraying some high temp clear coat protect them....is there sucka a thing?!

lol yeah i hated working at toyota and boom now i have infinite free time

i took them off becuase i'm installing my soild motor mounts and i'm not going to be retarded and try to work around them! i have so much room now without the headers and it dosnt take much to put them back on, like maybe 35-45 minutes
