Default question for the professional detailers..

i've been detailing at an auto body shop for the past 2 summers and would like to start doing it on the weekends while im in school.. i was wondering what products and what process, step by step, you all use and follow when doing a customers car. If someone could give me a full list of all their materials and the process they use i would be extremely appreciative.

ive been detailing cars for quite some time now...ive found out that all in all mostly all productsd are basically the same, its just how you use and personally like the product (then way it applies at removes, etc.)
My step by step paint detail is as follows:
1. Wash vehicle (any soap, dish detergent if you like to remove old wax)
2. Clean Wheels/ Wheel Wells (i use industrial stuff.......u can use spray9)
3. Clay entire vehicle to get rid of road grime/ tar (mothers clay bar)
4. Chamois vehicle and doorjambs (use seperate chamois)
5. Blow out all cracks and crevices to get rid of water so it doesnt drip when polishing with compressed air or whatever you like
5. Cut polish entire vehicle with Meguairs Diamond Cut compound with variable speed polisher with yellow cutting pad from carbrite
6. remove all residue from compound with microfibre cloth or 100% cotton cloth
7. Polish with Meguiars Swirl Free Polish
8. Wipe down residue
9. Wax with Meguairs Gold Class Wax or any wax/ sealant of youre choice
10. Before removing wax i dry tires off and armor all the tires and wheel wells so overspray from the tire shine doesnt get all over the car, which it will if you take the wax off first
11. Remove wax from vehicle and wipe all crack where polish/wax might have built up in
12. Wipe down rims with seperate microfibre cloth.
13. Clean windows with whatever product you prefer
14. Triple check everything (windows, paint, wheels, wheel wells, etc.)
15. Collect money and deliver vehicle!

i like to clean the interior b4 the exterior. but just my two cents. power washers and degreaser is my fave way to clean nasty doorjambs.

takes me about 5-7 hours depending on the condition of the paint/ vehicle. I usually charge around $120
