well, i finally decided to go and zaino my car a little more. last time i did it was for a 3 day inside car show in 01 i think it was. i havent really waxed it since i just put the 3rd coat of Z5 on and holy moly! i forgot how great this stuff was. took off the second coat and it was night and day difference. well at any rate...ive taken some trips through some cornfields as of late, and the front of my car is just bug city. the car doesnt sit outside so the bugs havent really "baked" on too much. ive clayed the front fascia but the marks are still present . I also have some rubber/vht on the rear quarters that dont seem to want to come off too. whats my best bet on fixing these areas? maybe some 3M stuff and a buffer? the clay bar seems to be no match for these areas.

I like to take Dawn dishwashing liquid and a cotton terry towel and go to work. It takes a while of scrubbing. and then do a complete Zaino over the whole car.

How long did you leave the bugs on??? They wipe right off the car easily with the Zaino on it. VHT came off with a little Z-6 when I had some on it.

the bugs have been on for a couple weeks....but i havent driven the car in those weeks. i sprayed the loose bugs off with a hose when i got home

the vht/rubber has prolly been on there some time, couple months if not more.

Bug guts can etch the paint/clear. Those marks may be there for good.

You could try to soak the areas of the car with bugs and rubber remains with WD40 - do it in the shade, then wash and wax the car.

Sounds funny but I have also used tire shine to soak and soften the dead bugs off.

Just don't use one of the citrus based cleaners for the VHT, it will smear it onto the paint and make a really really bad mess.

I use Stoners Tarminator for bug's, works really well and it's proven to be clear coat friendly.
