Default Finishing up VHT Nightshade...need help..

Ok I VHT'd the tails. Cleared and sanded them and didn't like the result. I left some scratches in the clear and it just wasn't shiny enough. I took off the tails today and put two more coats of clear on so far....what do i need to do?

I got a few different kinds of grit, 2000 is the finest. I got rubbing compound and polishing compound.

I want them to look as glossy and shiny as possible.

Should I just sand them down with the 2000 grit and use polishing compound?

yea the first time i did it i used 800 grit, 1200, then 2000. i must not of sanded enough with the 2000 grit after that...cuz the 2000 grit shouldn't leave any scratches right?

Looks a lot better now, but still very light scratches even though I used 2000 grit.
