Default painting stock emblems.. good or bad?

in the past I've tried those chrome emblem overlays.. they looked great and got great comments.. but when it was time to dust or wash it up, the emblems would get caught and peel slightly.. I've sen the actual polishd/chrome cut emblems. but they're too expensive.. I like the 4th gen emblem look.. so I was thinking of painting them with chrome colored.. anyone do this yet? good idea or bad?

^^Agreed, it will look cheap. I say save up and get the real things if you really want them.

Tried the same thing before, no luck. So I bought some instead.

I've got the stainless z28 badges I bought from muffinbuster on the bay that I'm planning on selling before too long on my car currently, PM me if you're interested.

Pony up for the real deal...paint never holds up, especially in an application like this.
