Cool Projectors Finally Installed (Now w/ HID's)

This is TEMPORARY until my buddy and I design 2 brackets and see what we like better. I've also upgraded the wiring harness to a plug and play 12 gauge unit with relays and fuses. I love the output. It's incredible on low beam and highs are insane! I'll have output photos tonight if I get a chance. I took some of these photos at a higher shutter speed to darken the image and allow you to see the lit lights a little better:

Before:

After:

OH.. and I honestly don't care if people think it's ugly. I don't mind. I have headlight covers (smoked) that I run sometimes during the day and as I said, custom mounting brackets are being made and will look 100% better. :-P

Freshly taken in the rain, beam patterns of Low & High:

Edit: Here are a few more recent photos from when my g/f and our friend "stole" my Z at Sonic lol...

I'll most likely be pulling the factory fogs and replacing them with 50mm micro projectors:

Edit (6/24/08): The current updates are projector fogs:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/943767-added-projector-fogs-match.html

Edit: (6/27/08): Added a 5000k HID kit, though I REALLY wanted 4300k. I couldn't beat the price so I went with these. Unfortunately it IS a pnp kit, but I'm dealing for now. Photos are stock H9 bulb on driver side and HID setup on passenger side:

The HID isn't as blue as it looks, it is fairly white, but not the 4300k I really wanted:

Low beams:

High beams:

Edit: (7/14/08): I needed to sand my headlight buckets so they would be flat black. I was having too much reflection (In my opinion) from the glossy black paint that comes from the factory. I am still having some reflection issues, but won't know 'til tonight how much the sanding helped (or not). Overall, I am still extremely happy and satisfied with this mod!

EDIT: (7/28/08): After sanding down the headlight buckets to reduce glare, I now have these cut off photos:

Low:

High:

I've since sanded them down even MORE to further reduce the glare:

Nice job. Are the projector lenses protected or just in the open right now? Also, is there anyway to get both lamps to be level with eachother? Get some night output shots.

Thanks all. I want to get a custom bracket or light assembly that will hold them. We're working with sheet metal as this point and looking at other options (GTO or 3000 GT type look).

Did you change your name? I think we've spoken about this before (on here and HID Planet). If not, then there is another red LT1 Camaro with those projectors on here. Maybe he can chime in too.

Yes, I did change my name lol. It was GhostDakota but I got rid of the Dakota so I figured there's no need for that name anymore. I'm the guy on HID Planet as well

Thats it, now I remember. Its confusing when people change their names. I didn't even realize that the "Dakota" in the name referred to a vehicle. I thought it was just a cool name combination. Oh well.

Thanks man!

Yes'm, it referred to the 440 rwtq on 150 shot beast that's been gone for over a year now. Fun times in that thing.

Anyway, I think it looks okay now, but I can't wait to get it fixed with the new brackets once we finish 'em. It may be a while 'cause I am doing my t-tops next (hopefully this Sunday if my friend doesn't go to Ford Carlisle).

BTW: Did I mention how absolutely amazing these lights are at night? Not sure how it is where everyone else lives, but I'm 45 mins outside of Philly in Chester County. We have numerous back roads that are not lit, with some nice straights and winding turns (yes, some are just like circuit tracks ;-)). Anyway, last night I came back from my g/f's house (45 min drive on these fun as heck back roads) and it was like I had the sun at my back the entire time. High beams are brighter than most the 100-150 watt off-road lights I've used in my time on my Jeeps... I love it!

Thanks all. The Mustang GT is a buddies here at work. It's as fast as my Camaro.

The entire setup cost me about $290 for the lights, adjusters, and upgraded heavy duty wiring harness.

Yes, I have headlight covers I can run if I really care, but I like how it makes the car look. I get TONS of looks now (more than before), probably people like WTF did he do?! lol...

Eventually I want the setup to look like a GTO or 3000GT housing. I think that'd be sweet.
