Identify This Interior Part Please
I have a strange problem with my 2002 Z28.
I am looking for the name of the interior panel that has the hatch release button on it. It's the panel that sits underneath the steering wheel directly above the driver's lower thighs and shins. The button is to the left of the driver's left knee.
Whatever that panel is called, it fell off onto my legs while I was driving down the road a few days ago. Luckily I was able to get it out of the way before I had to stop or work the clutch. The panel's screws and the brackets that held the screws came off with the panel too.
It looks like someone had broken the plastic in which the brackets sat off in the past and glued them back into whatever the piece of plastic is called behind the interior panel that fell off. The glue must have given way and now I cannot reattach the brackets because there is nothing to reattach them too.
So I need to find out the names of all of these panels and parts so I can figure out how to replace them. Has anyone else had this problem?
