Default -8 tranny cooler lines too large????

Is there anything wrong with using -8 braided hose for the external cooler on my TH400? Or is -6 the preferred size? And why?

I don't think there will be a problem with -8, it's just not necessary. -6 is still larger than the fittings on the case, and it will package better on the car because it is smaller.

Is it 1/4" pipe or 1/8" pipe size threads on the TH400 cooler?

1/4-NPT

1/8-npt is quite small (like an old SBC oil press. sensor)

That is what I thought, I have 1/4" NPT to -8 adapters. That was why I was thinking of running the -8.
