Exclamation i need help...

a buddy has a 98 TA LS1 auto car...he put on the dart heads *225* and the L92 intake/tb set up and we put the tranny back in it..hooked everything back up..car starts ..runs...the car will shift into gears but NOTHING HAPPENS..yes it has fresh fluid in it..yes it is full...

also we noticed when we had the car lifted off the groun * all four corner* that when we started the car and had it ideling in NEUTRAL that when you turned the back wheels by hand..BIG ** CHUNKA CHUNKA CHUNKA CHUNKA CHUNKA *** Grinding noise comming from the TRANSMISSION... while under the car you can hear it comming from the middle of the transmissio...

tonight he is pulling his tranny pan off to see wtf if anything has came out...keep in mind we never took the pan off..just took the trans out and put it back in... somebody please HELP!!!!

The noise may be caused by the inertial movement in the trans
But I think the first thing you need to do is unhook a cooler line and start car for a few moments if no fluid sprays out you have broken the pump .
