'98 Z28 A4 Rattling noise, u joints or transmission problem? About a month ago I noticed a "rattling/tapping" noise under the shifter that is noticeable at idle everytime I start up my car. Earlier today when after I backed up from a parking spot and shifted into Drive the car pretty much jumped into gear. I took notice that my RPM were at 750, below 1000. When it jumps into drive I hear the rattling noise as if something is loose. What do you guys think this could be? U-Joints?
btw I have a 1998 Z28 (A4) with 77,000 miles.
