General trans specs

General trans specs Can someone tell me the trans fluid capacity of a 1998 E460L. I bought this trans engine package and had it shipped (there has been some drainage in the shippment). I replaced the pan gasket and drained the pan. I asssume the convertor is still full. I have added 1 gallon at start up and after running for 20 minutes I added another 2 quarts. I can't seem to determine what the level is per the dip stick. i guess I am gettin old and can't see but it is either still below the dip stick or slightly overfilled. Thanks

Well assuming you mean the 4L60E with a stock converter approx 12.5 quarts total but if there was already fluid in the converter you are going to have to use the stick to see when its full. If its hard to see on the stick use a piece of toilet pager and watch and gradually move down the stick till the paper turns red when it meets the fluid .
