Exclamation Converter problem PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I have a 2001 camaro SS with a 224/228 cam it came with a 3200 Vig stall when i bought it and the guy told me it was a lock up. When i drive it on the highway it doesnt seem to lock up and the longer i drive it the more it slips. After ahwile it won't even catch at all and won't move its like its in neutral, but if i pull over and let it set for a couple of minutes it will let me drive for about 45 miles then do the same damn thing. Do you think its a converter problem or is there something wrong with my transmission? Can anyone help me out here PLEASE!?!?!!?
Also what will happen if i just go ahead and just put the stock converter back on??

The filter may be clogging due to a converter clutch failure when you turn the car off the drain back will clear the filter and it will go again till it becomes restricted again,
The first thing I would do is pull the pan and see whats in it.
