2000 Monte Carlo SS
Posting for a friend, not sure where to put this but figured if anyone knew, it'd be you guys!
He's got a 2k Monte Carlo SS with a 3.8 and auto trans, and said he bought the car new, and about 30k miles, he noticed the trans would want to shift from 2nd directly into 3rd lockup, then slip, then lock up again. He runs a speed shop and has been troubleshooting it, thinking it was a sticking valve or something in the trans, but now thinks it could have something to do with the PCM. He now has 90k on it, and it has done this since 30k. He did say he had a local shop flash the PCM with an "upgraded version" and seemed to fix the problem, but now it's back. Sounds like an irritating problem, anyone have any clue what could be causing this?
