Default torque converter, stall questions, not the same questions as most.

OK say you've decided your going with a converter with a stall in the 2800-3200 range. Now can you help answer some questions regarding do all converters have a lock up feature? Or do you need to specify? How about lock up clutch size, material etc. 500rwhp do you need to make sure you have special features, components?

All converters do not have lockup clutch, However most do and all of ours do, You would IMO always want lockup with a street car.
Lockup size is also something to be considered
There the small diameter converter with the bolt on ring and small lockup clutch , In most applications this is fine with PWM removed in tuning , Then theres the billet cover converter they have lockup clutch equal to or a little better than stock . Which is fine for pretty much anyone.
Then there are multi disk converters usually only needed for special apps truck that tow and people who lock going down the strip though rarely is there a benifit to that .
Any of these styles would work fine at 500 hp .
As for the lockup clutch material each company has a different position on that we use the carbon composite type.
