Default Tranny help?

4l60e tranny with TCI 3500 stall on an LT1. I took my car for the first long drive yesterday after my new motor. Everything was ok until I was almost home. My tranny started slipping going up hills then it got to the point where the only way it would work was if I had the shifter in either 1 or 2. What would make me lose only 3rd and 4th gear? I'm really hoping for an easy fix since I just spent most of my money on the motor. Thanks for any help.

did it feel like it was starting in a higher gear or would not move at all. And have you had tuning done for the stall and have you scanned for codes ?

I have no codes, I did have it tuned for the stall, and it will pull out and drive perfectly fine as long as the shifter is in either 1st or 2nd gear. If I shift into drive or overdrive my tranny will just slip. As soon as I shift back into either 1st or 2nd my tranny will work fine again. Reverse also works perfect. It's just 3rd and 4th gear that are slipping. I even gave it full throttle in 2nd gear and it held with no slipping.

If you place the car in the OD position and take off does it slowly accelerate and never actually change gears feels like slipping the whole time or does it just not move at all ?

I just took the car back out and it will pull out and drive fine in d or od. As soon as it's time to shift into 3rd gear it just slips. I got it to go into 3rd once after letting off the throttle all the way but that was it.

In that case unfortunately sounds like you have a 3-4 clutch failure

So I guess this means I'm looking at a new tranny or a rebuild. Thanks for the help.
