Default stall now or wait on tranny and stall

well i got the money to get a circle d stall now. or should i just wait and get a built tranny and stall. I am just a bolton car with 127000 miles i dont know if the tranny has been rebuilt still shifts good. If the tranny goes can it take the stall out also.

That is a tough one. 127,000 is definitely up there if it is stock. Putting a performance converter will multiply the engine torque and put additional strain on the trans. If the trans does go, it will contaminate the converter with the debris. It might last years with no problems, or the 3/4 clutch pack could be about to go and the extra strain of the higher stall converter puts it over the edge in only a few months. If you can't afford a rebuilt trans and this is your only transportation, might not be good to mod it yet. We do offer a free cut and clean on the converter if the trans does fail, so you do have that option. Good luck!

with that many miles you are better off saving to get your tranny and stall done at the same time. makes no sense to put the stall in and then have your tranny give out. just save up till you have enough to get both done.
