when i rebuilt my 4l80e trans (2004 unit) i bought a bushing kit that had all the bushings-the one for the tail shaft was a firm but not "tight" fit, so i called the place where i bought the bushings-he looked up for that part. year, showed 2004-05 took a diff bushing, which they didnt handle
i used the bushing i had, peened the inside of the housing for a tight fit and lock tighted it-seems to be ok, but something i think about though, lol
i have another 2004 trans i picked up, could just use that housing w/ex bushing in it, but i picked up a brand new t/s housing off ebay real cheap, never been used, w/fact bushing-anybody know if the housings are diff, if i could just use the new one, after looking at all the fluid circs. and see if they are the same-i dont know know what was diff about the 2004 + bushing why they would list a diff one, but must be a couple thous. thicker
