Default Tranny Issues - What do you think? Advice appreciated.

Car is daily driver, 95k miles, original 4L60E.

Added Cam/Converter (Yank SS3600) 1500 miles ago.

Before cam/converter, car shifted fine at WOT on street, but was hitting limiter on 2-3 shift at the track. Figured clutches were getting worn, but may also be tune issue (friend adjusted some shift points etc).

After install and professional dyno tune, car ran back to back 11.9's, with 1.7 60's. Next two runs on same night, 60's were 2.0 (thought because I brake stalled to high), and it hit limiter on 2-3 again.

Went to track last Friday, someone mentioned to run it in OD rather than D (might not hit limiter on 2-3).

Here's what happened... Started burnout in 1st, held for few seconds, moved it to 2nd, noticed MPH fall to 0, and RPM's were still high. I was like WTF. I let off the brake and it woke up and pulled forward. Launched, I think spun off line some, and hit limiter on 2-3 again. Didn't run anymore. 60' was like 2.1.

Checked tranny fluid before leaving track, color seemed OK, maybe slightly metallic.

Car sat for a few hours. On the way home I tested it a few times to see if it was alright. WOT at 50mph, shifted fine through 2-3 (around 80mph) and shifted fine 3-4.

Questions:
- Does it just sound like the clutches are worn?
- Could it have caused any issues with the converter? If the tranny is rebuilt, can I just throw the converter back in? Can it be checked somehow?
- Was the burnout issue "limp mode"? Maybe tires got too sticky in 1st and then when I went to 2nd clutches didn't grab?
- For now I'm just going to daily drive it easy. But sooner or later I need to get it fixed. What do you recommend?

If you made it this far, thank you. Any advice is appreciated.

The MPH to O is and electronics or sensor issue.
I have heard of it before but only on the late GTO before now.
However at that milage in a performance car it is likley you are due for a rebuild or a trans too.
Yank can cut and clean the converter for you and that is highly suggested.

Let me clarify that not only was the MPH 0, but the tires weren't spinning. I think the speedometer was reporting correctly.

Still think thats a electronics or sensor issue?

Also, the converter only has 1500 miles on it. What would be the deciding factor to send it for cut/clean?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it could possibly be something with the torque converter. You were on the brake while doing the burnout?

I hope not. Its only 1500 miles old. Only had 4 track passes before that. Works fine on the street. Yes, I was on the brake during the burnout.
