4l60e hd
Buddy of mine has a 2002 escalade with a paxton blower on 6lbs. Just wondering if there is any difference between the 4l60E and the 4L60E HD.
Whats the difference? Will it handle the power if he ups the blower to a 9lb pulley?
Anyone know what the trans is rated for? Its the AWD escalade btw.
Thanks

Depending on the motor size from the factory he might have a 4l65e. Look at the rpo codes for "M30" (4l60e) or "M32" (4l65E). Not sure what you are saying by HD. A 4l60e is one option and the 65 is another. As for the HP ratings I just do not believe in them. I would think that if he is on the stock trans it is only a matter of time before he will need a replacement. Probably going to have a band or 3-4 clutch failure. I would definitely recommend getting a billet output shaft in that trans because it is AWD and a billet input couldn't hurt. We do stock both of these items for our builds. Vince

On the top of the trans case will be a sticker starting "2Kxxxx" and it's a 4L65e W the 5-pinion planetarys, it's a good one, but lacks the beast sunshell and other goodies until it gets built. I would not "drive it like I stole it" until it gets a proper build.
