Question Is it normal to hear a slight clunk when going from N to D...

Is it normal to hear a slight clunk when going from N to D when the drivetrain becomes "loaded"? Of course I must have shifted it into and out of neutral ten times to recreate the sound, each time convincing myself more and more that it is not normal. Just wondering if anyone knows for a fact that there is a "small" amount of play in the drivetrain when it is loaded? Does it make any sound at all normally?

Thanks.

Yes it happens because there is nessesary slack in the drive train, and when you go into gear its taken up.

Well if it gets worse and it becomes obviously problematic, I'll do the universals. Thanks
