Default What is the easiest way to drain a transmission?

I'm going to ship it out on Monday and need to drain all fluid. Would someone care to post a step by step on how to do this? The guy who put mine in told me but I don't remember everything that he said.

Thanks

I think the easiest way to drain a trans is to set it on it's tail in a bucket or a drain pan and let it drain trough the tail. I use to do this in the garage years ago before tearing them down because I did not have a lot of bench space and it reduced the amount of oil on the bench. Usually I used the corner of my garage to prop the trans up while it drained so I did not have to sit there and hold it. Plus this was easiest when I did not have a second set of hands available. Just make sure it does not fall over. I think a drain pan is best to use. When your done wipe it off a bit and put it in what ever you are using to ship it. Vince
