305 TPI 700-R4 TV/detent cable My buddy has a 1987 IROC-Z, 305 TPI, 700-R4. He's having trouble adjusting the cable for proper shift points. I never had this problem with my 700-R4, so I am of no help. Anybody have any advice on where the shift points need to be? BTW this is a bone-stock 305, so whatever the stock configuration is will probably work best.

If this car has a stock TV cable the best thing would be to start by pushing down the tab and pushing the cable end as far into it self it will go . Then get in car and puch throttle down as hard as you can . The cable should ratchet forward. This is generally a good starting point and may even be right on
