Default 4l60e

Hi fellas, I've been out of the game and looking to get back in. Was looking at getting a V6 and doing an engine swap in a year or 2. My question is is the transmission in the V6 the same as the V8? If it isn't, which transmission is it and can it be mated to the LS1?

It is a 4l60e but a completely different configuration it wont bolt to the LSX V8 when you swap

Yeah performabulit is right. Me and my brother tried to swap mine for his (which his is a 3.8L) and it was completely different, and also his is an LT1 body style. Its a 97. Dont know if the year really makes a difference.

ok, so if I do decide to swap a V6 to V8, I'll need the engine AND transmission (among other things). Thanks guys
