Question Which stall....

Hello,

I've looked on yanks site and they recommend a 2800-3000 would the 3000 thruster make me happy or would the ss3600 be more like it? Also found a 4k fuddle with 700miles on it for $300... Should I go with the fuddle or what? Also what tuning is involved? If so can a mail order tune by frost cut it?

Thx!

What cam do you plan on running in the future if any? Car a DD? Like to set it up mainly hard street or mild street occasional strip?

Hard to determine what will make YOU happy without more variable on what you want out of the car and what your going to eventually put in it to get that result.

Your sig says a nitrous kit is in your future, you'll want the stall to be built "tight" for starters so as not to "blow through" the converter.

IMO anything smaller than a 3500 is not acceptable for pretty much any application..

DD more of a street car not really serious... 3500..
DD/street/strip/weekend warrior car more serious.. 4000
track car/weekend warrior.. 4400+

i wouldnt suggest running a 4400 and nitrous though.. biggest converter i would go with if you plan on spraying is a 4000..
i have had 2 4000 converters.. the VIG was loose and was more like a 4500 or so.. i love them both!

We need more info on how you intend to use the car. I would not suggest the Fuddle, do a search on here - the risk is not worth it. A mail order tune should be good.

SS3600, great all around "do it all" converter. If your reluctant to go too high in stall speed just remember that it's better to have slightly more stall and have room to grow than have too little and have to replace.

I'm happy with my SS3600 and to be honest I wish I had an SS4000.

Don't waste your time on the Fuddle. They are garbage IMO.

Go with an SS3600 or 4000 and don't look back.

I agree. Just go with a SS4000 and forget about it. even if you don't use it much ,you will be glad that it is there when you do.

WOW.. I would not recomend anything less than a 3600 as we can build them to drive virtually stock and shave .6-.8 tenths off your et. And as with any custm converter build it is an investment and you will generally get what you pay for. Do your research. You can call or pm and I will give you a qoute on a custom built converter for your application.

I got a 4000 from Greg at FTI and it drove so nice and hit hard when you wanted it. I regretted going so low, lol. I was going to step it up to 4800-5000 before I sent the car to the shop to get twin turbos. Now it's going to be a 4200 rpm turbo converter. That's on a daily driven(when it's not at the shop) TH400 car also.
