how much power can a stock 6L80E take?????? i believe thats the tranny in the 2010 SS auto.
my wife and I are thinking about getting one
i want to add longtube headers, full exhaust, pro-charger, and a head/cam package.....
how much power will it make out of the A6 and how much power will this transmission hold? are they reliable???
i know the 4L60E was so weak you could add a K&N to the car and the tranny would blow..... lol
does anyone know how much power this tranny will take? or anyone know its limit?
my wife and I are thinking about getting one

The pro charger might scare me a bit, but basic bolt ons should be fine. There are a few things that can be done to help them hold more power, but still a learning curve for the aftermarket.
Tuning is a huge part of how these things perform, so get a tuner who has played with the 6L80 and knows what to do.

There are a few guys in Aus with the stock 6spd auto G8's in the 10's with major engine modifications. Tuning is the problem that holds them back.
My tuner had a 400rwkw Gen TT 6L Ute that ran an 11.2 first time out with a stock A6 with stock calibrations.
The 4L60e's arent that weak, my brother has a turbocharged LS3 backed by a stock A4 trans and it hasnt ever missed a beat with plenty of abuse. Keep it cool and get a good tune and it will be fine.
