What are the signs that your blowing thru the convertor? I always hear people talk about stall speed, etc but I'm curious what you experience when you just plan overpower the convertor. Many of us buy our convertors early in our builds and keep making more and more power.

It is very simple actually.
Just use an online calculator to compare your mph through the traps versus rpm.
http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Tech...culators.asp#4
The calculators need your finish line RPM, tire height, rear gear ratio, trans final drive ratio, and finish line MPH.
Ideal slip will vary on the application / power level.
Mine was 7.5% at 737 RWHP and the builder was happy with this for a turbo car.
If you go too tight, the car will not build boost easily on the line.

Another good indicator is shift drop RPM. A good Shift Drop on a NA setup is about 1000-1200, FI likes a little more. Every car is a little different, but that is a good ballpark. If your Shift Drop is only 500 or so RPM, then the converter is probably to loose for your setup. You can even hear it going down the track sometime if you never hear the car shift. Meaning the converter is slipping to much and the RPM's never drop.
