Back home from RPM Transmissions!!!
They installed one of their Level 4, 4L60E's and a single disc Coan converter that Coan and RPM worked together on. It ended up being a 3600 stall speed. Mike Norris stopped over and tuned the car on RPM's Mustang Dyno and tuned the trans. It's 30* out, so I didn't get much traction, but had allot of fun driving home anyway!
I bought my car about 4 weeks ago. It's pretty tame for now, it's an 01' Z-28, it has an SLP "flo-pack", GM "hot cam" 217/228, .525/.525, Pacesetter's, y-pipe, SLP "dual-dual" catback and 3.42's w/an aluminum d. shaft. It had a "street" tune on it from another tuner, but I wanted to give it a try on a dyno with Mike, since he was going to tune the trans anyhow. With the converter locked, it made a baseline of 350rwhp / 348rwtq. 2 pulls later, it made 382rwhp / 379rwtq. He set it to lockup at 105mph under w.o.t. We plan to test it locked and unlocked at the track, as well as the shift points and a few things. The torque management was also in full-swing when we started and that has been removed. The car feels allot different. I am very happy with it and can't wait to see what it'll do on a tire this spring.
What do you all think it can run in good air (not this mineshaft stuff), on a tire? It's full-weight and I mean everything. I weigh 175lbs. I'm guessing high 11's @ 114-ish?
Thanks...

RPM Transmissions definitely builds some of the best transmissions you will find. What you car will do at the track is hard to say, it depends on what has been done to the chassis along with tires, etc, and track prep. My brother's '95 Formula is producing horsepower in the same ange that your car has, check out it's 1/4 mile times at this link. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...tCar.php?car=7 Bob

I think your high 11 speculation is a good guess. With good air and traction I dont see why a mid/high 11 isnt possible. BTW, is this converter designed to lock at WOT?

Well, according to RPM, it will be no problem. My tuner asked while he was tuning it there. It's supposed to be a tough ****. Haha. It ought to be, it was expensive.
I am anxious to test and see if it helps at all. Even if I only get a mph increase it would be worth it to me.
Cool, hopefully there is an 11.something in it as-is on a tire.
Thanks...
