Default Is my transmission saying bye-bye?

I have the stock A4 in my car. It drives fine in stop and go traffic, but if I reach a stretch of road with no stops, like highway driving, it will run fine for about 6 miles and then it will slip out of 4th into neutral. If I drop it into 3rd it will run fine, but I don't like driving highway speeds in 3rd. Once I come to a stop it will run fine in 4th for another 6 miles or so before slipping again.

Is my transmission telling me it's about to go? I've checked the fluid level and it's not over-filled.

Any guidance is appreciated!

Hmmm, guess I'll take it to be serviced and see what they say. Time to start saving for a trans. Thanks for the info.
