hi guys, my 4l60e will only go to 2nd gear in D, any ideas what could be the problem?

its on a jeep wrangler with a 5.3 engine, ive connected all the wires into the tranny including the pnp switch, but it wont shift? ive heard it usaully skips from 1st to 3rd gears, but mines shifting from 1st to 2nd only...... im lost

i have no 3rd and 4th gear even if i manually shift in 3rd, please help i need to get this jeep on the road

men i have the same problem and my truck is at the transmission shop as of today.. tomorrow hope fully they know whats wrong with it...and will let you know..

mine ran fine and then I was on the freeway I felt some hesitation so I stoped to check for leaks and when I tried to take off I only had 1st. 2nd and reverse?/ weird... I will let you know what I find out
or did you figure out the problem?

i did get mine check and the 3-4 clutches were burnt... just for your info

the 4l60e is notorious for that, 3-4 clutches get burnt, also mine cracked a sunshell only way to tell would be to look at an apply chart for the circuits and that would isolate your problem, also i beleive there is a servo that controls 3-4. ill have to look in my service manual when i get a chance
