Default Autometer sensor in the pressure port help

I was going to be putting an 1/8 npt sensor in the drivers side pressure port, I was screwing the sensor in on one of the adapters that comes with the kit to make sure the threads were okay, and it was resistant and took some oomf from the very beginning of screwing it in, I stopped about three turns into it but is this the way it is going to screw into the transmission? Thank you for any info you can give me.

did you ever find out the answer to this issue? I believe the pressure port is a 1/4 npt and the sensor is a 1/8 npt so a reducer would be needed to hook up your sensor.
