will a 94-97 4l60 work on an ls1?

Default will a 94-97 4l60 work on an ls1?
Buddy gave me a rebuilt 4l60e he didnt know much about it..he had the paperwork and it has a bunch of nice parts in it sopposedly can handle 600hp but im not sure if its for an lt1 car or not. any way to tell the difference? and if it is for an lt car will it work with my ls1?

Ls1 4l60e's have removeable bellhousings.
They are not interchangeable between lt and ls.

From what I have seen the 1996 and 1997 will work with a LS1 Car.
