Default new stall in a stock trans horrible idea?

Ran a 12.5 last week. On stock trans. Would it be better to wait till I beef up my stock trans? This is my first auto car so its all new to me.

Well I have been running my stocker 30K+ making over 415rwhp turning 12.0's. 102K total miles on tranny. Make sure you add a nice cooler and I would go for it. I have a Trans Go shift kit too. I will admit though it is a bit of a crapshoot.....

I put 40,000 miles on my stock trans with a vig 2800. I had a good trans cooler and good tuning! I also got my trans completely flushed once a year also!
