Unfortunely I think I am getting to learn the difference. I have an LS engine and trans and ordered an LS converter from PI. Looking down the center of the converter I see two splined sections and below the second splined section is a reduced diameter smooth section. I am thinking the LS converter bore should end at the second splined section as the input shaft is splined to the end. Assume the input shaft on an LT has a small smooth section on the end. Also taking measurements the input shaft on the trans is 5 5/8" to the pump and the converter is 5" to the bottom of the second splined section. Does this sound right?

the convereter and the pump and the input shafts are different, the lt1 4l60e has a smalleer stator than the ls 4l60e

Can someone post pictures of the different input shafts? Or at least the correct one for the LS1 4L60e?
I have a 1999 late 4L60e from a 1999 Astrovan 4.3 (I think) and I was wanting to put it behind a 2004 vortec. I need to make sure this combo will work as is or if I need to do some adapting.

well craps, I'm going to have to do some adapting to make mine work I think. I've attached a picture of mine.
It is adaptable isn't it or do I have to start over with another tranny?
