Default Flexplate option ? 99-00 6.0 related

Installing a 2000 6.0 lq4 with a turbo 400

The crank is the longer design with the built in spacer.

besides redrilling the stock flexplate for the smaller TC pattern
are there any other flexplates that will work?

I purchased and tried using TCI # 399753 after being told it would work by TCI. Now they say it wasn't designed for the longer crank

I'd prefer an SFI flexplate over the stock GM but don't believe I have any other options

I hope some people in the "Know" will chime in here. I am in the same boat as you.
I have a 1999 6.0L and I am wanting to bolt it up to a Th-350. I need to know for sure what is needed for this. Some have said the only thing I need to do is egg out the TC bolt holes while others have told me to buy a special flexplate.

Just wish I knew for sure.

I am in the process of having one made
It should end up being dimensionally the same as a 168 tooth sbc/bbc flexplate (offset)
but will have the LS crank bolt pattern

I just got another flat flexplate to send out and have made

Other than the bolt holes for the TC what else is there to do??

If I were to go the route of drilling the holes for my Th-350 converter do I need to do anything else? Since the adapter is built onto the back of the crankshaft is that going to cuase any problems?

All you have to do is drill the holes

The big problem is they end up breaking into the old holes and makes a big oval

It will still work though

How are you having one made??

Do you have to worry about the engine balance if you do this?
