Its because of over lap of the release of the low rev friction (not releasing fast enough)

anything i can do to adjust that. im trying to decide if i can live with it or tear it out again to fix it or just do a 2004r instead. this car has 4.11 gears and i drive it alot so i have been thinking about doing the 200.

im guessing to fix the overlap is it valvebody related or shimming a clutch pack tighter?

Why do you need to manually shift it?
If this vehicle is for drag racing/weekend usage with very little street miles install a reverse manual valve body. Most reverse v body's have no low clutch apply, and also freewheel in second (by eliminating the coast band).
This cleans up both the 1-2 and 2-3 shift.

If this is not a option for you, and your purpose of manual shifting is to raise the wot up shifts, then lighten the weights/springs on the governor to get the wot rpm where you want it. (note: this is kinda a bitch to get the rpms you want exact...takes a little time to do.)

i just like having the option of shifting it myself. this car will probably never see the track (just my daily putter).
