Default Changing Trans fluid 700 miles after rebuild?

Ive heard this before but wanted to confirm, ive got a fresh 4l60e in my car and its now been broken in and has 700 or so miles on it. My question is, is it a good idea to change the trans fluid now that its broken in? from what ive heard the new clutch bands will create a little bit of debris. If anyone can share their thoughts on this it would be appreciated.

Well its certainly not a bad idea. And yes there can be some minor debris from clutch/converter breakin and of course it can give a good indication if everything is going ok.

You don't need to change the fluid if it is fine (which it should be and would be a waste of money) but change the filter only if you insist. Look at the bottom of the pan away from the magnet and see if there is any clutch/band material, and check out what is on the magnet. If you see anything that you are not sure of, take some pictures and post them.
