Default Difference in 4L60E, camaros, vettes, trucks?

My 4L60E 3rd and 4th gears just went out. I'm wondering what my options are with finding a used one to drive around, until I can get this one rebuilt.

What are the differences in the 4L60E's with respect to the vehicle they came in? Camaro vs Vette vs Silverado vs S10, etc?

I found a used one for $200, but it's out of a 90s model silverado. Would this plug and play or what?

Thanks...

Anyone know if this 4L60E out of a 95 C1500 pickup will work in a 95 camaro? I heard they are geared differently, but is the wiring the same?

Anybody?

That combination will interchange, you'll have to use the f body tail housing.

Every 700R4, 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E all use the same gears. At some point they switched from 4 pinion planetary gears to five, but they have always and still have the same ratio.

Anyone agree or disagree that the 95 truck trans will work in a camaro? I guess I'll find out tomorrow when I go look at the trans. It's a GM reman with 30k miles and the guy wants $200 for it. Sounds like its worth a try. I can always resell it if it doesn't fit for some reason.
