Default what torque converter should i get

i currently have a TCI street converter 3500 stall. i don't know a lot about converters but with the new 383 H/C/I build im not sure if it will hold up very well. my questions are
1. Are there any efficiency differences in converters like losing RWHP from cheaper converters.
2. Will the TCI hold up on 430-480RWHP?
3. I will also be putting a wet system on the car next spring so do i need and anti balooning plate

I am not a big fan of the TCI design, they do not use a billet front which means a very small lock up clutch and flexible front cover. An anti-ballooning plate is simply a thick plate welded to a OE front cover to try and prevent flexing. The best solution is a billet front, it is like one huge balloon plate. I think stepping up to a billet converter would be a good idea. At the power levels you will have, a converter failure would be very expensive. Stall wise is tough to call, I need to know more about your setup to properly recommend a converter. You can fill out my "Ask Chris" form on my website or give me a call and we can go over your setup.

While everyone is in agreance that the cheaper design converter will not last in your application give us a call as we or go to www.fticonverters.com and fill out our spec sheet or simply forward chris's and get opinion's from each of the converter sponsors on this board.
