Unhappy '95 Caddy Fltwd Brghm(RWD)

Hello out there, I drive a '95 Brougham (RWD) with 147xxx and was wondering about the tranny in that beast being labeled as being a "slouch". I hadnt had any problems thus far and I keep my maintenance up on all my toys anyway. Does anyone have any knowledge on that statement being true and should I beware or was the individual(s) who told me this info just had a lemon of a Caddy, thnx...

It's probably a 4L60E and it's fine. If you beat on it like crazy it could end up needing a rebuild given how heavy the car is.

Yep, same drivetrain as an Impala SS. The 4L60E has its share of problems, especially at that mileage. If you drive it like it was intended (80 year old blue-haired lady), then it'll last OK. Start putting power to it in that heavy of a car, then it will likely have a short life. Drive it until it pops, then have a reputable builder build it. Many local shops won't get it right.
