Exclamation 4l60e pump vs 4l65e pump

I have searched the internet (google) but i couldnt find an answer. My pump broke in my 4l60e and got a new pump for free. Im getting told by the trans shop that its a 4l65e and wont fit in my 4l60e.

Is there a difference between the two? and will it fit?

Thanks

What year transmission are we talking about here? In some cases a late model 4l60e pump is confused with a true 4l65E pump. There are two different style stators for a 4l60E. A 298mm and a 300mm so this might be what they are referring to. There were also some differences in the pumps in the later years so I would need to see some pictures and some more info to give you an exact answer. If you would like post some pictures or shoot me an email with the pic's and I'll help you get it sorted out. Vince
