Default Electrnic Speedo Help Pls!

Ok guys i have a 4l80e and an Autometer electronic gauge w/ a 2002 truck computer and harness..... From the computer i have used Vss, Low Vss, High Vss.... The only one that gave my speedo a signal and made it move was High Vss, but when i was connected to it the truck wouldnt shift into 2nd, 3rd, or 4th gear.... Unconnected it and everything shifted fine. Is there a way to make this work? Couldnt come up with anything under search, Thanks for any help

The VSS signal goes into the PCM, theres a VSS out or speedometer signal for the speedo. You need to try that wire. I'm not sure if it outputs a signal compatible with the gauge though.

I just connected a Autometer speedo to a LS1 from a Camaro 2002. You need the pin 50 green/white wire. It is an output from the PCM, so just cut it and splice it into your VSS wire to the Autometer.
You will not see the speedo move until you've done the calibration according to Autometer.
1. Keep the trip reset button pressed in while you turn the key and start the engine. Hold it until the speedo goes fully out.
2.Release and drive to the start of the 2 mile stretch you have figured out on Google maps (for example). Do not switch off the ignition!
3. Come to a standstill at the start position and press the reset button again. The speedo will go to half.
4. Drive the 2 miles. You may stop, drive hard, drive slow, whatever you like.
5. When you come to the end point, come to a standstill and press the reset button again. The speedo goes to 0.
You are now calibrated and ready and as you drive off, it should show the correct speed. Mine did!
The accuracy of the calibration depends on the accuracy of the 2 miles measured up and travelled.

Good luck!
