'93 differences coupla questions on my car, '93 TA 'GT'
are the gear ratios different compared to the 94+ 4L60e's?
at 70mph, I'm turning around 2300rpms, which rear gears do I have? the door sticker is faded and torn so I cannot look for the GUx
if there is any difference in tranny ratios, would a 3.73 gear swap help on a strictly street/daily driven car? I have my new rear apart in the garage so swapping gears would be easy now as opposed to when its in the car.
also, would the 4L60 vs 4L60e affect my stall converter choice? I'm looking at something in the 3600-3800 range, very tight
finally, the original owner says it has a 'shift kit'. As I dig deeper into the car, I'm seeing that frankly, he's an idiot and did everything to this car as cheaply and quickly as possible. Is there any way for me to confirm this? There are not a lot of stock '93 auto cars around here for me to drive and compare to.
FWIW, this car will never see a track. Perhaps a few spirited runs out on the highway and a nice twisty back country road when I go see my parents but 95% of the time, its a 10 minute commute from home to work on streets with a max speed limit of 45mph. I'll be doing bolt-ons and *maybe* a cam in the distant future but unlikely.

The factory ratio on these two units are the same and use the exact same carriers. In order to find out what ratio is in your rear you will have to count the ring gear and the pinion gear. Then divide the two numbers and that will tell you what you have. Vince
