Default Tranny cooler question

I broke my old tranny cooler it was a hayden plate/fin type, the black one. It came w the car when I bought it, worked fine tho.

The shop I went to replaced it but put on a different one, It looks like a Hayden 401 tranny cooler, its silver.

Does anyone know about this type? Is it going to work w my 3600 stall? It just looked kinda cheap and I didnt want to put myself at risk.

Plate style is more restrictive but cools better. I have been running plate coolers for years with no issues.

restictive in what way? So do I gotta go back and have them put another one on or will I really not notice any real difference? I mean, is it really worth it for me to buy a new one and replace the one I just got put on?

I wouldn't sweat it. The bar and plate cooler will shed a little more heat than an equally-sized tube and fin cooler, but the design is not a deal breaker. It should be fine.
