When we do installs at the shop, 10' is enough hose, even with the later 4L80E's and the longer line for the rear cooler fitting.
The whole kit is $250.
That's a really good price.I fallowed this write-up and spent way more.

Keep in mind I used all aeroquip fittings. I also bought way more hose than I needed....but I will end up using it someday.

You get what you pay for.

This thread is not about cheaper options (ex. gorilla tape?!?!). Its a tutorial for those who want to use braided hose with AN fittings. Its not a cheap option and it never will be. Use the rubber hoses and barb fittings if you want to be cheap(wrapped with plenty of gorilla tape!). Some of us have enough money/power in our trans to blow those nipple connectors and hoses apart.

I know this is an old thread, but thanks OP. I just followed your recipe and put the same cooler on my car.

No more rubber lines and shitty screw clamps!!!

I had to come back and post my experience with this trans cooler.

First off if you have an SLP box and air intake as well as A/C you will not be able to mount the cooler with out getting rid of the A/C condenser or the intake. I chose to get rid of the latter.

I used the same parts list that I post a year or so ago as my car has been on hold. I wanted to post to let you know that I found it impossible to remove/install the transmission fittings by simply removing the transmission mount. I had to loose my SLP loudmouth Y pipe connection at the part where it merges to cat back and also the connection between the long tube headers and Y pipe. I am not sure if I had to remove torque arm clamshell bolts but I did before removed header/Y pipe bolts. The 45 degree AN fittings worked like a charm just as the OP stated.

I will post my findings about how much cooler my transmission runs. With my Finish Line Transmission stage 4 4L60E and Yank 3600 with stock cooler my trans normally runs between 170-180, but climbed over 190 on a 30 mile trip to the drag strip where I chose not to race in order to preserve my trans. I am hoping this MONSTER cooler will allow my to hot lap.

Was finishing up my 86 iroc 5.3/4l60e swap came across this thread glad I did instead of use the factory stuff as I have a fresh rebuilt trans and stall cooler is much larger than expected used Russell fittings and proflex hose since I made my fuel system out of Russell products

Yes, I do not have an AC condensor. So I had all the room in the world. Your particular exhaust may have prevented the transmission from tilting down as much as mine was able to.

Still going strong. No issues except my lack of driving the car these days.

I just ordered everything you suggested. I'm still running AC; Can I mount this in front of the AC condenser somehow? It's hard to tell where it will fit without having the cooler yet.

I built my -6 AN lines today complete with the 45 degree fittings. Once installed, the 45 degree fitting are a TIGHT fit. I have about 1/16 inch clearance between the tunnel and the fittings -- is this enough?

If it's a little tight for you to be comfortable, dimple the tunnel.

Yeah, I stuck a crowbar up there and made a little extra room. I would like a bit more, but it's not horrible.

Just to let everyone know, a good alternative to this b&m is the tru-cool cooler. It's H7B and is quite a bit cheaper.

When you say tight, how much clearance do you have? I just installed my Poly motor mounts, and that seemed to shift things slightly. I know have about .020 of clearance between the tunnel and the AN fitting.

I ordered a 90 degree fitting just in case I get paranoid, and at some point and want more clearance.

Shifted closer to the tunnel? I dont remember how much clearance I had, I just remember it fit. With poly mounts you should'nt worry about it moving around as much as the stock rubber mounts right?
