Want to hear your opinions on trans choice
I have a th350 with a ptc 3800 stall right now. My car weighs under 3000 pounds roughly with me in it and will only get lighter. I'm about to install my ms4 cam, I have bolt ons and will probably spray a 100 shot or so at it. My point is I have a glide laying around that I want to use. I plan to build the bottom end next year and go to a single plan manifold and hit it with a lot of spray. I only want to build one transmission. Is the glide going to be too extreme for my current motor setup and light car, or should I do a th400? I also plan to swap to a circle d converter when I swap trans for what its worth.

A bit of both....if that makes sense? I will cruise in the car on the street and plan to take it to the track and do digs and rolls on the street (dont judge). The powerglide is my favorite trans and would work great on my final setup. I just don't want my car to struggle on the ms4 cam only/spray setup it has now because I only have two gears.

It'll be cam only for a while, so whatever it makes through either trans and what not. I have the magic stick 4 camshaft. I'm either going to do 3.73 or 3.90 for now on a 28 inch tire. After consideration I'm kind of leaning towards the 400. I know neither will really let me down when it comes time to perform all out, I think the 400 will be the friendliest for when me and the wife just want to go for a ride around town. Not to mention, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, the 400 should be a fairly cheap rebuild. Not that the glide is made of glass or anything though.
