I'm shopping for 4L80e's and coming across many from diesels. Lots of info saying the trans will bolt right up, but I can't find anything about the stock converters. I'm going to run the GM spacer kit and stock converter until I can afford a Circle D unit, just need to know if a converter that came in a diesel truck will work for my 5.3.

The diesel stall will fit, it will just be very tight. They are the same setup though...So you could get a gas converter and a diesel trans, if they will let you...
